How to prevent Outlook for asking for credentials

If Outlook keeps asking for a password, it may be looking at some outdated credentials. Try the following:

  1. Go to Control Panel, then Internet Options
  2. Go to the Advanced Tab and click Reset
  3. Press OK to close Internet Options
  4. Go to Control Panel, the Credential Manager, then Windows Credentials
  5. Delete all credentials that relate to Outlook or Office
  6. Open Registry Editor
  7. Export Registry, save in a safe location
  8. Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\Identity
  9. Delete the Identity key
  10. Open Outlook again, and enter the credentials once more. Optional: Choose to remember password
